Today was the big eye exam. My vision is down from the long exalted 20/20 I had while in my twenties.
I must say that I love my insurance. It contributed $125 toward my eyeglasses. The doctor said that all I needed was something that would help the . I wish you could have seen the difference the lenses made when I had to look at the lighted letter chart. Before the lenses I could see the letters but I was straining and they were still a little fuzzy. He clicked the machine twice and BAM! Crystal clear, bold, precise. Give me glasses!
Have you had an eye exam this year? Recently? If not, go, but don’t get them dialated. Do the Optimap. It’s so cool to see the inside of your eyeballs and the vessels. The doctor at Schaeffer Eye Center here in Huntsville, AL is great. He was thorough and cool. What’s his name? Ooo. I dunno. Schaeffer? I dunno.
Here are a couple of pics of me sporting the bargain bin frames that I purchased. I have to go back and pick them up in a week after the prescriptions are put in.
I liked the brown frames because they blended and complimented my complexion better than the black ones. I kept trying to talk myself into getting black frames by reciting the saying hanging on the wall: “A face is a piece of art and needs a great frame.”
Okay…just not black.
I won’t be sporting them all the time. Doc said they’re mainly on an as needed basis: for night driving to cut the glare off of everything, and to take the fuzz off; I can wear them while at the movies or watching tv for the same reason; he also said that if I want they would be good for clarity when reading things at a distance. I’m telling you these doggone computers, and cell phones, and laptops, and tvs are ruining us. I need some carrots, or some beta carotene.
Four eyes are better than two, right? Do you wear glasses? If so, why?
