Tear eight0

That was a great read tonight, Father.  Sno seemed to have enjoyed it as well. Please let what we read tonight permeate our beings.  We need that, Lord.  There’s no sense in reading just for the sake of reading.  Let it be a source of encouragement during those days that we can’t find anyone else [...]

White Wednesdays: Caring For Children

The sympathy, forbearance, and love required in dealing with children would be a blessing in any household. They would soften and subdue set traits of character in those who need to be more cheerful and restful. The presence of a child in a home sweetens and refines. Vegging Out

I recommend - if you don't already - spending a weekend at your home away from everyone. Just enjoying the space you call home. Go out in the backyard and see what's there. Sprawl out on the living carpet and meditate. Lounge on the couch in the den and take in the space. Draw a hot, bubbly bath; cook something in the kitchen just for the sake of using the oven; dust a book off the shelf or a magazine off the coffee table and read it on the front porch/front yard; sleep somewhere else in the house besides your bedroom; put the phone on silent or vibrate and have a "Stay-cation."

The Sabbath (pt 2)

In the days of Christ the Sabbath had become so perverted that its observance reflected the character of selfish and arbitrary men rather than the character of the loving heavenly Father. The rabbis virtually represented God as giving laws which it was impossible for men to obey. They led the people to look upon God as a tyrant, and to think that the observance of the Sabbath, as He required it, made men hard-hearted and cruel. It was the work of Christ to clear away these misconceptions. -E G White, The Desire of Ages-

The Sabbath

The Sabbath calls our thoughts to nature, and brings us into communion with the Creator. In the song of the bird, the sighing of the trees, and the music of the sea, we still may hear His voice who talked with Adam in Eden in the cool of the day. And as we behold His power in nature we find comfort, for the word that created all things is that which speaks life to the soul. -E. G. White, The Desire of Ages-
